You know, I think the thing I want most of all is for this new Trek series to have the optimism about the future that proper Star Trek should have.

Give me shades of grey, give me the problems of living in what’s supposed to be a utopia but kind of isn’t.

But don’t give me “darker and grittier”, don’t give me antiheroes. Give me hope, give me trying and failing and trying again, give me Star Trek.
