ok i just got a sad thing – these are the chronological order pictures of erwin’s face as drawn in iyasama’s manga. do u notice a thing? do u notice how in the first picture he’s super excited and yelling all the time and even when he isn’t idk he looks confident and defiant. and towards the end like starting from the second last line he looks so downcast like idk i assumed it was just because of the prison thing but it started before that and continued even until that last picture. our child is sad and disillusioned now pls kill me

He has given up all hope of ever living a normal life for himself in the place of duty, so much so that he won’t ever be in a relationship because he is sure he will die young. He is so hardened by war and full of guilt that he thinks himself a selfish monster just for wanting to stay alive.
